“They were the very best! AJ, Juan, and Luis were fantastic!!!”
I’m Garrett Volk, and I started Neita Mover in 2014 after years dispatching freight through the I-465 and I-70 hubs. What I kept hearing from friends around Indianapolis was the same complaint: nobody could give them a straight price for a simple across-town move. So that’s the whole thing we fixed. Your number goes in writing before a single box touches the truck.
Two ways we crew a local job
Most Marion County moves fall into one of two brackets. A tight downtown apartment or a couple of rooms in Fountain Square runs fine with a pair of movers. A full Old Northside brick home or a Broad Ripple bungalow with a staircase usually wants a third set of hands so we’re out by afternoon.
| Setup | Hourly | Typically used for |
|---|---|---|
| 2 movers & a truck | $149/hr | Studios, 1BR units, small households |
| 3 movers & a truck | $199/hr | Houses with stairs, 3BR+, tight near-north access |
One-hour minimum, then we bill honest increments after that. Blankets, dollies, and shrink-wrap ride along at no extra line item, and there’s no weekend surcharge on our board.
What a written flat rate looks like
Rather than leave you guessing, here’s the range our office quotes most often once we’ve talked through your address and access:
| Move | Flat rate written up front |
|---|---|
| Downtown high-rise studio or 1BR | $445 – $600 |
| 2BR single-level, easy loading | $690 – $940 |
| 3BR near-north home with a tight stairwell | $1,040 – $1,420 |
| 4BR Hamilton County new-build | $1,520 – $2,050 |
| Second stop at a storage unit | +$120 – $190 flat |
The near-north streets we know cold
A lot of our calls come from the early-1900s brick homes and doubles in Old Northside, Herron-Morton, and Fletcher Place. No driveway, street-parking permits, and staircases nobody designed with a sofa in mind. My crew chief Cody Reinhart runs most of those jobs and sketches the tricky pieces the night before instead of improvising in your foyer.
Newer families are heading the other direction too, up US-31 into Carmel, Fishers, and Westfield subdivisions. Those jobs bring their own rhythm — wider driveways, more square footage, and a box count that dwarfs a downtown walk-up. Tyrell Beemon leads that Hamilton County board and knows which HOAs gate their truck access.
Booked around Indiana weather
Winter here means icy porches December through February, so our trucks carry ice-melt and traction mats. Spring brings tornado-watch weeks, and if the sirens are a real possibility we’ll call to reschedule rather than tarp your dresser in a downpour. Want the numbers before you call? Run the moving calculator or read who we are on the home page. Heading out of state? See long-distance moving, or if it’s an apartment, our apartment & condo crew handles the COI.
